September Meeting - New Date!

7:00 pm

Our September meeting will be postponed until Thursday, September 20. It will be the usual time and place, i.e. 7pm at the Skellig in Waltham. You can look here for directions.
That said, we have a great speaker lined up. Jim Buck, of Twitchy Thumbs Entertainment, is new to the Boston area, having moved here from San Diego where he was a coordinator for the IGDA San Diego chapter. He’ll be giving a talk about game physics that he describes thusly:

I’ll describe the methods I used to implement the physics for Rally Cross PS1 back in ‘96-97 - they were using realistic methods that hadn’t been used by that time and I think still haven’t been used too much to this day. I’ll also show Rally Cross running on a PS1 emulator as well as a PSP/Win32 game I developed for SCEA last year using the same physics methods. Though it’s “old” tech in the sense it was developed for a previous-previous-gen system, it’s always good to know how to do a lot with little resources.

September 21 is a Friday. Is the meeting going to be on Thusday September 20 or Friday September 21?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

  2. Ed Gardner Says:

I will probably stop by the Skellig anyway, if anyone is going to be out an about in Waltham. I had made some arrangements to meet several folks from the AGDC there, and they may not have gotten the email. Next Thursday is a conflict for me, so for all your crazy cats (Will I am looking at you) who want an excuse to have a beer, look me up.

  3. Danny S Says:

So is this going to be at 7 or at 10? 10 would totally work for me, 7 might be tricky…

  4. Darius Kazemi Says:

7pm. I’m not sure why it says 10pm in the sidebar, I’ll try and fix that.
